About BDM Mechanical: heating and cooling work in Bridgeport and on the shoreline
How a job runs with us, where we work, and the two offices that answer the phone around the clock.
What we work on
BDM Mechanical repairs, replaces and maintains heating and cooling systems for homes and businesses in Bridgeport and the Connecticut shoreline. That covers gas and oil furnaces, hot-water and steam boilers, central air, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, water heaters, ductwork and commercial rooftop equipment.
A lot of the work here is in older houses, since Bridgeport has some of the oldest housing stock in the state. That means radiators and steam boilers as often as it means forced air, and it means planning around plaster walls, masonry chimneys and oil tanks. We work on all of it, and we would rather tell you a repair is enough than sell you equipment you do not need.

How a job runs
- 1
Someone answers
Calls are answered 24 hours a day. We ask what the system is doing and whether anyone is at risk.
- 2
A time on the same call
You get a realistic arrival window, and on emergencies, what to do while you wait.
- 3
Diagnosis before parts
Meters and readings first, so the repair targets what actually failed.
- 4
Price before work
You see the cost before anything is replaced or installed.
- 5
The work
Repairs from parts on the van where possible; installs permitted and inspected.
- 6
Testing
The system runs through full cycles while we watch the readings.
- 7
Cleanup and paperwork
The area is left clean and you get a written summary.
Two offices, one number
Our service office is at 41 Brookfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06610, in Bridgeport's North End. It handles the city and the towns around it, including Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull, Shelton and Milford.
Our head office is at 214 Oxbow Ln, Guilford, CT 06437. It covers the shoreline east through New Haven, Branford, Guilford and Madison. Both offices answer on the same number, (203) 568-0715.
How calls are routed
Most calls are handled from whichever office is closer. On a busy winter night, the call may go to the other office, and you are told before anyone is sent. The Service Area page has the full detail, including where our coverage ends.
Who writes our guides
The guides on this site are written by Eleanor Boyer, our hvac guides editor. They cover the questions Bridgeport homeowners ask most: what a furnace replacement costs in Connecticut, whether a heat pump beats oil, how Energize CT rebates work, and what to do when the heat goes out. Cost and rebate figures in the guides come from recorded, published sources.
